Do not be satisfied with hand waving when you can work with real gravitational (acceleration) fields

It is much easier and more correct to use a dot density map and visualize the gravitational potential field. Then take the gradient of that field to get the 3D acceleration field and it can be visualized with flows and cross sections or vectors.

While it is nice when humans can visual mathematics and try to predict motion, the safer better strategy is to use the best computer model of the whole thing with a 2160×2160 spherical harmonic model of the earths gravitational potentials, use that for the acceleration field – supplement with instantaneous 3D data from many global sensor networks and predict what will happen.

Forcing human kids and adults to use hand waving and word memorization will not make them better able to solve exact models. Give them the tools and models that are used in predicting the orbits of satellites and spaceships, asteroids and planets and light and solar wind etc etc etc. All that is available on the Internet and more. Do not be satisfied with toys methods when you can use the real things.

Gravity does not look like a rubber sheet. It is a full 3D volumetric field that is in constant motion. Why have a cartoon to look at that are not anywhere near real, when you can have immersive simulations using nearly perfect digital twins?
