For SpaceX type earth to orbit and orbit to earth field generators, many modular 2 GigaWatt units only have to store and deliver for a few minutes, so they can be small and if some fail, sufficient backup is available. Using fields for acceleration is zero mass. Replacing the booster greatly reduces the overall cost and complexity. A full atomic generator is not needed, the fields can store and deliver, not generate store and deliver.  Methods for storing electromagnetic energy in KeV and MeV bonds allow “atomic fuels” and materials with 100x and larger times bond strengths.  New computers for AI problems make the monitoring, simulations, control, operations and evaluation orders of magnitude less expense, smaller and faster. Probably also allow “hypersonic drone” strategies to be used.
