That is clockwise from North, and on their map it shows nicely. So (101.39 – 90) = 11.29 degrees south of Eastward, and there is a line to show me when the moon would rise, but it was cloudy there and then, so not available to check. Looks close.

Editing the screen shot in Windows Paint, I chose the pencil so I could see the x,y coordinates. The pencil point is easier to see. Center of the moon is about (1553, 145) pixels in top = 0, and (1553, 1080-145 = 935) in bottom = 0. I zoomed in a few times to make it easier to center.

The horizon is a bit hard to see at night, but the moonlight helps. I think it is about (1080-350 = 730) pixels from the bottom. And (1553-960 = 593) pixels along the horizon to underneath the moon. That angle is arctan(593/730) = atan(0.8123288) = 39.08 degree. But too tired to work out the real distances from the image.

It looks like the camera is pointing north of east, from the satellite view. I clipped the satellite image and put it in Paint. The center of the daytime image is near the end of the pier to the left of the light house. It is tedious to match the camera image with the satellite view. Different times and shadows. I think someone moved the trash can. There is a white box on the roof. I think that is the camera.

I extended a line horizontally from the camera box (write the number down!) and then one vertically there to the end of the pier where I think the center goes. That is arctan(126/1063) = 6.77 degree north of east.

I think all cameras should have their camera, its parameters, location and direction published – if they are a public site. If it is on the Internet it is public.

And the elevation of the moon above the horizon in the image is about (935-730 = 205) pixels.

Torsten:

I am trying to calculate the direction of a live webcam from clues in the image, including where the moon is showing.
