Let’s say your written vision statement is good. That bit of text added to the Internet does not contribute at all to dealing with and integrating the other opinions, knowledge, experience and “making choices” that goes on for every human. Your focus is mostly ( “researchers” ) with its 1.75 Billion entry points. Even that is quite a mess. <\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

After more then 25 years of the Internet Foundation I can give you my personal opinion. For a topic like this, it is critical to encode the whole body of knowledge using global open tokens, not arbitrary ones. Index the whole using a combination of AI and database best practices, and then make that a part of a global consensus for what is happening and what has been proposed. <\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

I just checked. (“diversity” “research”) says “About 2,500,000,000 results (0.25 seconds)”. You can go to the bottom and click “see more”. Each page starts with 3 “sponsored” entries (paid ads). and every page shows the same Google Search generated “inclusion topics” and “DEI topics”. None of the entries has been encoded. The whole cannot be downloaded in global open formats for research. There is a high concentration of “big” and “rich”. Google Search seems to be serving the paying customers. And all your people are forced to use those tools to get to global knowledge.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

I cannot, in a finite size, share my knowledge of what I have found working every day for 25 years to try to understand these issues. I do see really outstanding people from every country and background. The rich crow louder. The poor shut their mouths and try to survive. The ones who made it try to keep what they have. There are millions who are considered “not worth anything” and left to die. And there are many considered “less than nothing” and deliberately eliminated by various means. It is not horrible at human species scale. A few hundred million is nothing. Even a few billion human lives wasted is nothing in the current calculus that “it only takes two to repopulate the earth”. <\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Just for reference. If you bring to mind the face, name, and life details of every human now living (about 8 Billion) complete and whole at one human per second. It would take 8e9\/(365.25*86400) = 253.504702512 years.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

So tackle the larger problem of “data” with its 12.5 Billion entry points, and try to ensure fair global access for all. And that means not hiding information without which most data cannot be used at all.<\/span><\/div>\n

I am fairly certain the answer is to use global open tokens (agreed and refined by all groups) for all knowledge and data. Make the AI groups work “for the good of all”. And use strict methods to ensure that. If there are going to be global data\/knowledge services, they must be beyond reproach. And the results accessible to all. Not just the rich ones who can afford giant computer methods for their own enrichment and fame.<\/span><\/p>\n

If global knowledge\/data is open and accessible to all humans, that includes who is doing what and for what reasons. With sufficient tools so any human or AI can examine and test fairness.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
