Suggestion to eLifeScience.com for email alert, online search, navigating their database of bibliographic data
Can I get lists of bibliographies and email alerts in machine and human readable format? Reading html is tedious and your people never pick display formats that are easy for me to read.
I have to deal with all formats and data and knowledge in the Internet. The usual ones like xml and html are bloated and inefficient for human readers sharing in networks. Too much programming and fiddling.
At least, please, send me alerts with an attached list of the titles, authors, dates, abstract in easily read and easily computer parsed form. I can suggest efficient ways.
But the first issue is “Are you even willing to let me choose my preferred way of displaying, managing, sharing, bookmarking and organizing – lists of records that you are sending now only in “eLife people choices” html and css?
The same method for simply notifying me by email with an array of records — can be used online for reading search results, and for displays of list of articles and resources that you currently only give in html/css/js/apps.
